About "Le Fooding"

Chef owners Chris & Allison Fenn have been asked for years to describe their style of cuisine - is it Modern Australian, is it Mediterranean, is it British, is it Seafood - the truth is we have not set genre... it's simply about the food and what is in season, we cook food we like how we like it! To put it into any category the one chosen to summarise would be the tongue in cheek term "Le Fooding".


"Le Fooding" is a modern style of dining first introduced in France in 2002, by rebel Chef's fed up with modern over complicated dishes. The style promotes simple fresh produce cooked, prepared and served with favourite flavours everybody can enjoy!

The Restaurant is currently restructuring with the new opening times from April 2010 being Dinner served Tuesday to Sunday nights from 6pm. There are plans to license to venue in the future, but in the meantime the restaurant is BYO for alcohol with a one off $3.00 per head corkage fee a night.

Lunch groups and functions are available by appointment outside trading hours and plans are presently being considered to open for Breakfast from June 2010 for the tourist season.

APRIL COMPETITION WINNER!

The winner of our April Customers Choice Competition is Dina Bradshaw with her Slow Roasted Lamb Shank with Caramelised Red Onions & Mashed Kumara - congratulations to Dina who wins a three course dinner for two - well done!

LICENSING THE RESTAURANT

Step have been taken this week to license the Restaurant so we can sell a range of Beers, Wines and Spirits.


It has long been our intention to try to get licensed and we will be formally applying this week after months of preparation and coming up with the finance in what has been a quiet wet season with the strong Aussie Dollar limiting the tourists visiting!

JOB VACANCIES - WE ARE PRESENTLY LOOKING TO FILL THE FOLLOWING POSITIONS FOR 2010 TOURIST SEASON


Experienced Kitchen Hand/Cook


We are presently looking for a local experienced cook who is interested in helping out threw the tourist season on busier nights. Ideally applicant would be flexible and reliable, and possess a good natural artistic flair and eye for presentation of food. Basic cooking skills are preferable, however the position will mostly involve assisting Chef Allison in prep for service, cold larder/salads and plating during service and general cleaning after service. We stress experienced applicants will only be considered as timing and composure are both key attributes to this position.

Junior Waitress

The other position we are looking to fill is for a junior to assist Chris on the front of house. Some previous hospitality experience would be an advantage but not essential as training on the job will be available. The main things we are looking for are a positive bubbly and friendly manor who has a genuine interest in food and a good basic knowledge also. Job duties will include clearing and setting of the restaurant, polishing cutlery and glasses, carrying orders to customers and helping to promote business.
